Claire Davidson

Ms. Davidson is a partner in Gardant in London, England, which provides strategic communications and public affairs counsel within media, political, regulatory and financial environments. The Policy Partnership is the sixth fastest-growing agency in the Top 100 (source PR Week, 22 April 2005).

Claire has over 20 years experience in strategic communications, corporate reputation management, economic development and regeneration PR, brand marketing, and internal communications. She has run campaigns in 42 countries having been a CEO at Weber Shandwick Worldwide. Claire has worked alongside regional, national and international government bodies, and Non-Governmental Organizations on issues relating to healthcare, financial planning, diplomatic relations, economic development, social responsibility and infrastructure.

Recently Claire has also specialized in providing strategic communications counsel at Board level to companies which are facing crises or whose reputations are under threat.

Over the last 12 months she has worked for clients in management consultancy, the oil and gas industry, as well as the cement, shipping, pharmaceutical, healthcare, construction and manufacturing sectors.

Claire is on the marketing advisory board of AMREF, Africa's largest health Non-Governmental Organization, and is an adviser to the Royal Town Planning Institute in the UK.

Dr. Naresh Trehan

After training in general surgery and subsequently cardiac surgery at premier institutions in U.S., held important academic and clinical positions at the New York University Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital of the City of the New York and Veterans Administration Hospital (Manhattan), U.S.A. His pioneering work in the field of coronary artery bypass surgery was at the New York University Medical Center, New York, USA, where he performed over 3000 coronary artery operations.

In 1988 at the height of his career he left this academic and highly lucrative position and started Escorts Heart Institute and Research Center - a pioneering state-of-the-art heart institute in India. This institute is among the best in the world in cardiac care and has helped to raise the standards of cardiac care in the country.

Within a short period this Centre has become an important land mark the world over in cardiac surgery and cardiology having successfully performed over 35,000 open heart surgeries which includes surgeries of coronary artery, valves, carotid arteries, aortic aneurysm, cardiomyoplasty, cardiac arrhythmias, total arterial myocardial revascularization, transmyocardial laser revascularisation and least invasive coronary artery surgery on a beating heart and reduction ventriculoplasty (Batista Operation) with excellent results. Some of these operations have been performed by him for the first time in India.

Besides clinical work he has taken keen interest in training, education and research programmes. He is giving doctoral training of international standards to 30 surgeons at a point of time in the institute. The training is for a period of 3 years. Over 20 surgeons have already been trained so far. He has established a comprehensive research programme to constantly monitor the data accumulated on a daily basis from each patient. He has presented a number of scientific papers and chaired scientific sessions in national and international conferences in USA, UK, Japan, China, Israel and the Far East.

Hugh G. Jagger

Hugh Jagger is an independent consultant in the fields of education and technology. Since March 2003 he has consulted to Cisco Systems on the World Economic Forum’s Jordan Education Initiative, a public private partnership between the Jordanian government and over 30 public and private sector organizations.

Mr. Jagger played a key role as strategic architect of this innovative project, which uses electronic content to enhance education quality and efficiency. He has continued to play roles in the World Economic Forum’s Global Education Initiative and follow-on country initiatives in Egypt, India and Palestine.

In parallel Mr. Jagger has advised the Global eSchools and Communities Initiative on its plans for developing world education and led a study of "Return on Investment from ICT for Education" for a group of public and private sector organisations. This included the publication of a paper in a UN book at the World Summit on the Information Society. He also advised Cisco and its partners in the Mississippi and Louisiana Education Initiative on eLearning strategies and the introduction of change management methods.

Mr. Jagger’s earlier career in management consultancy, spanning 20 years, included partner positions with Ernst & Young, Coopers & Lybrand and Deloitte Haskins & Sells. He also held management positions with Cap Gemini, Cable & Wireless and Energis Communications (the latter as interim CEO).

Mr. Jagger has been a frequent commentator in the media, for example on BBC, CNBC and CNN television and in the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Jagger holds two degrees from the University of Manchester, a first class honours bachelor of science and a master of science. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and a Member of the British Institute of Management, the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institution of Electrical Engineers.

Mr. Jagger lives in England and is married with three children.

George Middleton

George Middleton, a third generation British national Middle East expatriate, has been resident in the Gulf region since 1979 working in the publishing and marketing industry throughout the G.C.C. states (Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Kuwait, Oman and Qatar).  He is the founder and Managing Director of Red House Marketing, one of the most successful independent publishing and marketing organizations in Bahrain. George was instrumental in launching the first monthly magazine in Bahrain (of any language) in 1997 and his main business objective is, through his organisation,  to help facilitate the mutual exchange of ideas, products or services between organisations and their customers.

George is married with three children.
